Tips for Creating the Perfect Support Ticket

Provide as much description as you can about the problem. A good descriptive service ticket answers the following:
  • What were you trying to do?
  • What happened when you did it?
  • Why is that wrong, what did you expect to happen?
  • Are you having access issues? Have you provided us with information to identify you? (Username, the email address you used to sign up, your full first/last name?)
Be as descriptive as possible.
  • Instead of just saying "Can't login", please say "My username is ‹insert name› and when I try to login ‹insert what happens›"
  • Instead of "Videos won't play", please give us a bit more information like "I was attempting to use Windows Media Streaming to play ‹insert video name› when ‹insert what happens›"
